Over the last week I have been going through the footage that has been shot and putting it all together in order to achieve some of the footage. I have looked at adding titles which will be used in the final cut but have not used the style in which we have discussed in th pitch for the print research and will therefore include these in the final cut. At the minute me and Beth are ahead of schedule in terms of the shoot and so I have been spending a good amount of time on the footage we have completed at the moment.
At the weekend I will be shooting some further footage for the trailer which is in a different location to the last, Next week I will spend time editing this in order to get a feel of the full trailer.
For the footage editied I feel some of it is not to the best pottential and therefore I have decided to maybe re-shoot or add more footage. I also may go back to the location of the forrest to get a established shot to set the scene in the beginning of the trailer. This means that a variety of shots can be used for the trailer and this can further pursue our chances of producing a better trailer and higher level for this work.
Here is the footage I have edited so far. The titles used in this trailer are just temporary as me and Beth are currently editing and creating titles and so I have added some simple temporary ones for now.
Obviously, you're going to need to tighten up the editing a lot. You need to think about music and sound effects. You also need to think about how the narrative is going to be structured by the editing. Some of the camera-work is a little shakey - is this deliberate? Why did you not use a tripod?
ReplyDeleteThe location is good and looks quite creepy, although you may want to treat the footage in order to make it a little less bright - you could alter the contrast a little?
You will need to do a lot of work on the sound, since you have a lot of background noise - camera clicks, footsteps etc. Not quite sure how this fits into the narrative of a trailer - which trailers you have researched look like this? For example, the director/ actor credits - is this accurate?
At the moment, I'm not at all clear how this is going to fit into your overall idea for a trailer - you need to really structure this a lot more.
