This is the link for Beth's blog where she has posted the research done for 'Whisper', 'Orphan' and 'The Others'.
I feel the research, which I have completed, is of a good standard as I have looked at a number of shots in real media products in order to use within our trailer. I have looked into how the genre being horror can be explored and the representation of conventions in mise en scene, sound, editing and shots can be implemented to be an attractive and successful trailer to the audience. I feel the research I have done has allowed me to come up with a idea of what our trailer will be about and what should be included in order to be a successful media product for this genre. The research I have also done is into the posters and magazine covers which will come in useful next year when we need to compare and complete print products for our trailer. These made us realize that their needs to be a clear link between the print and trailer in order to be a successful and effective media product.
Beth has also completed a number of posts on trailer research, which I found very useful in coming up with more ideas for our trailer. The research she has conducted has allowed us to see the difference in different trailers and use a combination of techniques in order to have a good range of scenes for out trailers. Beth has a very detailed analysis of the research especially in the sound and editing of the trailers she has found which I think is very useful for our A2 project.
